Yes, there is a $20 fee for your initial card. However this charge is often included in summer orientations. So if you are participating in one of the summer orientations you may be covered and not have to pay when you pick up your first card.
How do I get my UB Card information if I am a distance learner?
A distance learner must request their UB Card information from the UB Card Office by e-mail. They must also have a request sent by their department to the UB Card Office. After both requests are received and verified, the information will be forwarded to the student.
Can I get a new picture on my UB Card?

Can I borrow or lend someone my UB Card?
No. Your UB Card should be used by you exclusively. If someone other than yourself tries to use your card, it will be destroyed on site and you will incur a $25 fee to replace it.
Can I add Dining Dollars or Campus Cash to my card if I have a checkstop?
A bursar checkstop will prohibit you from charging Dining Dollars or Campus Cash to your student account. You can still add value to you card if you have a checkstop but you must pay with cash, credit card, or check.
